South American Australians making history.

In less than one week two Central and South American nations will make their Rugby League debut in Australia!

El Salvador VS Chile promises to be a history event.

We had the opportunity to interview Latin Heat and Chile Co-Captain on our last encounter:

The June 11 International Rugby League Fiesta will feature Chile v El Salvador, Colombia v Ecuador, and Peru v Uruguay at Henson Park, Newtown, Sydney.

The 12.50pm clash between Chile and El Salvador will be the first time two Latino sides have competed in a full 13-on-13, 80-minute contest.

In the early games (from 11am), Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Uruguay will face off in a series of seven-a-side and nine-a-side matches.

Enjoy Chilean dancers at halftime and authentic Salvadoran food courtesy of Raza Central food truck.

Flags, jerseys and other national merchandise available for purchase on the day.

Tickets are $10 via http://tickets.oztix.com.au/?Event=63089

International Exposure

It’s always a great feeling of accomplishment when you know you have reached the right audience.

This morning The Shell Shock Network did just that, this time all the way to the other side of the world!
My friend and fellow South American Kevin Mac was the featured sports story on a Guyana cable TV news channel.

I feel proud to be part of the team you see playing and the ones you don’t who work just as hard as  those behind the scenes, who make everything possible and preserve the memories.
We all work for the same thing, we believe in the same message.
Today we were heard all over Georgetown!
